The World Cup opening ceremony will be held at the Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Al Khor. The stadium has a maximum capacity of 60,000 and will also be the venue for one of the semifinals.

Shakira, who is well known for her performances at previous opening ceremonies, will reportedly be one of the performers. Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, the Black Eyed Peas, J Balvin, Nora Fatehi, and other acts have all been suggested as potential performers.

In addition, early in September, American rapper Lil Baby released the World Cup’s official anthem. Shortly after, he tweeted to announce that he would be participating in the competition in some way.

FIFA is yet to announce a full list of performers for the 2022 World Cup opening ceremony, however, it has been confirmed that Bollywood singer Nora Fatehi will perform the World Cup single “Light The Sky” with BTS’s Jung Kook.
