GCC residents, citizens can travel to Qatar without Hayya card : Qatar's Ministry of Interior has announced that citizens and residents of the Gulf will be allowed to enter the country without a Hayya card.
Regular entry procedures will resume for all those eligible from today, December 6.
However, the authority has added that those who wish to attend the upcoming matches will still need the card.
There are separate rules regarding the entry process, which are as follows:

By air
Travellers will be able to enter the country through airports without a Hayya Card. Those without a match ticket will not be required to register on the Hayya website. As of December 6, 2022 (today), tourists will be able to enter the country seamlessly with travel protocol that was earlier in place.
By bus
All those wishing to enter the country by bus can do so without registering on the website of the Ministry of Interior. Free parking spaces will also be allocated for buses.
By private vehicle
From December 12, 2022, tourists wishing to enter the country using their own private vehicle will be able to do so. However, they must register on the website of the Ministry of Interior at least 12 hours before the date of entry. No fees will be charged on registration.
Authorities have said that this step is being taken in an effort to allow more visitors from GCC countries to come in and enjoy the spirit of the game.

The tool, which is available on the Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship’s website, is a short quiz that will inform users if they are eligible for a Golden Visa. The quiz can be conducted in a couple of minutes, and asks users questions about their investments in the UAE, job role, and contribution to the country’s economy.
The UAE recently announced reforms for its Golden Visa rules and long-term visit visas, paving the way for more people to access the system. Unlike a normal job visa, the Golden Visa is not tied to employment, meaning the bearer can stay in the UAE. The visa lasts 10 years.
The benefits of Golden Visas extend to immediate family members. Children can be sponsored by a Golden Visa or Green Residence visa holder until the age of 25 – an increase from the previous rule of 18 years – with no age limit for unmarried daughters. Children of determination are granted a residence permit, regardless of their age.
The UAE Golden Visa residency programme was first implemented in 2019 and enables expats to live, work, and study in the UAE without the need of a national sponsor and with 100 percent ownership of their business on the UAE’s mainland.

The positive policy reforms will further enable educational to facilitate uninterrupted education preventing students and their families from the hassle of re-applying or purchasing an alternative visa type.
Butterworth added: “The UAE Golden Visa expanded scheme will also incentivise students in UAE secondary schools and universities to aim for high performance. This will further fuel student interest and intake across universities, allowing educational institutions to attract and retain exceptional talent.”
The UAE Cabinet has also approved a special entry permit for those attending training and academic courses and/or participating in internship programmes.
The sponsor can be universities or educational or research institutions licensed in the country or government or private entities.
“Universities form the crux of UAE’s academic landscape and any policy reforms that impact entry and retention for students across universities, also increase the flexibility of the education market.

Golden visa eligibility criteria for entrepreneurs include owning or being a partner in a UAE-registered startup that generates annual revenues of $272,250 (AED 1 million) and above, having approval from an official body for a startup idea or being a former founder of an entrepreneurial project that sold for not less than $1.9m (AED7m).

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has ended all COVID-19 restrictions from Monday, November 7.
Wearing masks is optional in all open and closed facilities across the UAE, including mosques and houses of worship. They will still be required at medical facilities and centres for people of determination.
The updated rules were announced by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) on Sunday at a special media briefing on COVID-19 restrictions updates.
Al Hosn application will only be used to prove vaccination certificates and the results of PCR tests inside and outside the country upon request.
Green Pass is no longer required to enter public facilities and places.
NCEMA tweeted: "PCR testing and treatment health facilities will continue to operate. And the five-days isolation period for those infected with COVID-19 restrictions will still be implemented."
It added: "As for sporting events and activities, organizing bodies at the national and local levels may request pre-examinations, or vaccination certificates, according to the type or importance of the activity."

The latest announcement follows a gradual easing of measures recently, in line with a fall in COVID-19 cases.
On September 28, masks were made optional in public places and schools, but remained a must at medical facilities, mosques, public transport. Airlines were given the flexibility to decide on masks as they deemed fit.
The UAE stopped announcing daily COVID-19 cases at the end of September. Updates are however available at the official website of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, NCEMA and the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.
The first COVID-19 case was detected on January 29, 2020.
The UAE’s handling of the pandemic has attracted worldwide recognition. The country is one of the most vaccinated nations at almost 100 per cent of the population fully vaccinated.
NCEMA Official Spokesperson Dr Saif Al Dhaheri said: “The UAE government has made unremitting efforts during the last period to contain the COVID-19 restrictions pandemic, resulting in increased awareness on how to deal with epidemics and diseases."
“The health sector, in coordination and cooperation with concerned authorities, intensified its efforts to deal with the health crisis, stemming from the belief that society’s health is a top priority of the wise leadership,” he said, affirming that the health sector will continue to monitor the situation and implement active surveillance in all regions of the country.
“Our solidarity over the past three years outlines the county’s interest in the health and safety of all community members, especially senior citizens, people of determination, and those with chronic diseases,” NCEMA official Spokesperson said, adding that efforts were realised thanks to the directives and vision of the wise leadership in dealing with the pandemic, as well as societal efforts and self-responsibility of each community member.
“In the past period, we have witnessed a noticeable decrease in infections and deaths, which indicates the extent of society's awareness and application of all precautionary and preventive measures to preserve the country’s gains and achievements,” Dr. Al Dhaheri said.
“We commend your continued commitment in the next stage to preserve what has been achieved in the recovery period, as we are confident in society’s awareness and self-responsibility after overcoming past difficulties with professionalism and efficiency,” he concluded.

Good News for travellers to the United Kingdom, the Visas & Immigration division (UKVI) has simplified some of the Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) processes for customers applying for certain visas with a duration of more than 6 months as part of ongoing improvements to the customer journey.
Update On Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
In an update posted on its official website, VFS Global, the official partner of the UK Embassy, stated that starting on October 10, 2022, Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) letters are now sent via email; physical letters are no longer be issued when you collect your visa from the Visa Application Centre (VAC).
VFS Global also advised customers to complete their visa application using their own personal, up-to-date email address, or one that they have easy access to. To receive this email, applicants may need to check their spam/junk folder.
If applicants used a third-party email address, such as a Travel Agent, as part of their original application, they must ensure that the third party shares the BRP letter with them. Please keep in mind that the BRP letter is provided at no cost.
However, customers must still obtain their BRP card once they arrive in the United Kingdom.
In some cases, customers may receive the digital BRP letter before being notified that their visa is ready for collection. Please keep in mind that if you have chosen in-person collection, you should not go to the Visa Application Centre (VAC) until you have been contacted by VFS.
If you paid for courier delivery, VFS Global will notify you once your passport has been delivered.
